Freedom from Fear Matters

I am deeply saddened by the current state of influences and tactics outside of ourselves that are serving fear and division.

We need to wake up and truly see what we are really accomplishing by acting out from a place of fear instead of from our true essential nature, which is love.

When we look around us in the natural world, it is radiant with freshness and bliss.

This morning my eyes captured the glistening sparkle of the sunlight on the dewdrops still on the long, green grass. It was magical. This simple beauty filled me with awe and wonder.

Fear keeps us from growing, from seeing the beauty around us, and from expressing our own magic. It hijacks our own ability to fully self express and reach for our highest potential. Fear creates control, violence, exclusivity and breeds hatred.

When we are out of touch with our own natural way of BEING, we forget who we are and therefore capable of spewing hateful words upon our own brothers and sisters, our loved ones, our greater community, the world.

In order to release fear, we need to get in touch with our own wise source of wisdom. The answers we seek are here, at the core of our own essential nature which is divine intelligence itself.

How does one go about finding freedom from fear?

One thing I have chosen to do is unplug from the mass media/news. I’m on a serious news diet.

Do you know anyone who has ever said, ”Omg, wait until you watch the news tonight, you are going to feel so empowered, inspired and downright joyful?!”

Not only are the perspectives potentially and dangerously skewed, I am always left feeling fearful, sad, defeated and heavy hearted. Is this the kind of energy I want to start or end my day with?

Outside forces are out of our control, but we do have 100% control over how we choose to think, act and be and what we allow into our lives.

I know that I cannot serve the greater good by being in a negative vibrational feeling. Practicing myself into alignment with my true self so I can best navigate my life and help others from an empowered place of integrity is my sole responsibility.

You know that you have connected to your true self when you feel free, calm, untroubled and peaceful. Your true self has no agenda.

Here are some ways to release fear and get connected to your true self:

  • Shift your focus
  • Get clear on what you don’t have control over and let that go
  • Be grateful for the joy in your life and for what you’re creating
  • Meditate
  • Get out in nature
  • Don’t take your negative thoughts seriously
  • Practice daily Self-Care
  • Reach out and get some coaching

If we want to create change, it begins with us. Individually we collectively expand our awareness.

No one’s journey is an easy one.

If we can open our eyes to the fact that we are all in this life together, that in a sense we are on the same team, maybe then, there is hope for a better future.

What is possible is that through compassion and understanding we break the shackles of blame, judgement, fear, control, and self-righteousness that jeopardizes our free will to live.

Only then can we unite together as a force that moves us towards greater freedom.

Let’s embrace our differences and continue to make choices that allow us to navigate our own life.

Cultivating greater awareness allows us to have brighter vision upon those circumstances where we are fighting to be RIGHT. When we fight to be right, we are cognizant of the fact that in the same breath we are acting unkind.

I like Rumi’s advice in this regard. Rumi was a 13th century Persian, spiritual poet whose words today remain timeless.

“Before you speak let your words pass through 3 gates;”

  1. Is it true?
  2. Is it necessary?
  3. Is it kind?

Are your words divisive, breeding hate among one another or are you taking a stand for unity, peace, freedom, and love?

The more people are not allowed their own choices, we stifle the very foundation that this country potentially strives for: FREEDOM.

What is freedom?

The dictionary describes freedom as a noun:

The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

  • absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.
  • the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

A strong icon for freedom in this country is the statue of the Goddess of Liberty.

She was a gift to the United States from France and has watched over New York Harbor since its dedication on October 28, 1886.

Lady Liberty continues to serve as the constant reminder for freedom for all.

Freedom begins within. It’s remembering that our true nature is free. The more aligned we are to this part of ourselves, the more we will choose to do no harm.

We have a long way to go to get to the place of true freedom in the outside world, yet it is worth striving for.

Freeing ourselves form the confines of fear which also include greed, self-righteousness, envy, hate, control, and rage is vital.

Herein lies the truth, united we stand, divided we will fall.

What do you stand for?

“I believe we are here on the planet Earth to live, grow up and do what we can to make this world a better place for all people to enjoy freedom.”

-Rosa Parks
